如果您聽過 Talking Heads（臉部特寫合唱團），對於這首歌應賅不會太陌生，他們是崛起於70年代 New Wave 新浪潮時期的四人搖滾團體，風格融合了龐克、搖滾、流行、放客、前衛搖滾以及世界民族音樂等元素，Talking Heads 也在2002年榮登了搖滾名人殿堂。Psycho Killer 即出自Talking Heads 於1977年所發行的首張同名專輯-Talking Heads:77，這張專輯曾被滾石雜誌選為史上最偉大的500張唱片專輯之一（Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time ），Psycho Killer 除了是他們的成名代表作之外，也是主唱David Byrne 在演唱會上幾乎必唱的歌曲，這首歌是由 David Byrne 與其他兩位成員 Chris Frantz（鼓手）Tina Weymouth（貝司手）所合力創作，也是 Talking Heads:77 這張專輯中唯一有進入告示牌排行(Billboard Pop Singles)的歌曲。
